Well ive Had the opportunity to be around all kinds of artists/musicians in my life, been & met the "best of the best in the industry" but to tell u the truth the shallowness and lack of real talent has turned me off!
Ive attended most every live rap/rnb show which comes to Seattle and am always shocked how terrible they sound, nothing like the radio version, jumpin all over the stage and callin half ass naked females to the stage for reasons we all kno....
no one cares how the artist SOUNDS the fans are in la la land being in thier presence :(
So then in 2004 or 5 (i think) i hear about this guy named K'naan......
got turned on by someone playin Soobax then Struggling then this cut with Tracy Chapman on my playlist (in the beginning) on Damian Marleys Tour bus..
I was sprung i mean the beat & hook was something i had never heard and it was different but u could dance to it and it wasnt about b****** and money or sex but it was raw and I could so relate to his struggling on my own level! it was like everything he said made sence to me..
So a year or so later i hear K'naan would be at reggae on the river and The Marleys (whom ive been lucky enuf to get to know) would be there so if i got there i knew i would get to meet K'naan maybe before he became a big star! :) :) :)
He has the most beautiful calming soul when he speaks to u..but when he spits his eyes like sparkle but u can see the fire and his Aura glows... u can feel some sort of energy or something and it captivates you! it turns into an addiction and u need more... u want to learn and ur eyes r open! It makes u ask questions and seek knowledge about what's really going on and K'naan is like our CNN for Somalia and the wrong doings of Babylon (America) cuz we can BELIEVE him!
He is something special & soon the whole world will see...
